For
the last 35 years we have been helping children in need. During
the Soviet Union times, there were thousands of such children,
whereas now there are millions. |

Social changes have thrown many Russian children out in the streets, making them homeless and penniless. The organizations that attempt to help these children have often found themselves similarly homeless and penniless. With politicians and the government officials minding their own problems, the children, who are least responsible for the revolutions that the adults have initiated, find themselves in a hard spot. Facing the most difficulties are the children with special needs and medical problems. Even those children with parents are sometimes not immune from trouble as their parents, angered by the loss of all their money in the economic transition, submerge them to physical abuse. |

In
the summer, we take children to the south of Russia to mountain
tent camps, where they cook for themselves, help geologists and
rescuers, revive the old camel trade routes and heal
themselves. |

For
the homeless, this becomes a temporary home and possessions; for
those from an orphanage, this is a welcome escape from the same
walls and people. |
|
For
the orphans - a chance to find an adopting parent. |
